Watches & Wonders with Kennedy

Kennedy hosted an intimate gathering at their Chadstone boutique to showcase a curated selection of novelties from Watches and Wonders.

Chadstone – The Fashion Capital opened doors in 1960 and is the leading shopping destination in Australia, integrating the world’s best retail, hospitality and lifestyle offering.

Kennedy Chadstone is located at Shop 444/1341 Dandenong Rd.

The evening was hosted by watch veterans Andy Green and Felix Scholz, who guided guests through some of the new releases from JLC, Grand Seiko, Hublot, Tudor, and Zenith.

Choosing between the Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Date (left) and the Polaris Geographic (right) is difficult. The Polaris Date is more straightforward with its elegant simplicity, featuring a clear date function and a classic, versatile design. It's an excellent choice for those who appreciate a clean, understated look. On the other hand, the Polaris Geographic offers more complexity with its additional complications, including a world time function, power reserve indicator, and day/night display. This model is perfect for those who enjoy intricate details and need a watch with more functionality. Both dials are beautifully made and truly need to be seen in person to appreciate their depth and craftsmanship.

The Genbi Valley in Japan has been designated a Place of Scenic Beauty and Natural Monument. It exists mid-stream on the Iwai River in Iwate Prefecture, where Grand Seiko’s mechanical watches are manufactured. The mysterious scenery of the Genbi Valley is expressed in this watch’s dial via a new moulded pattern and light-green coloration. This Grand Seiko SLGH021 is limited to 1,000 pieces.

The new Zenith Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar is a beautiful watch. Measuring 38mm, it offers a perfect size for many wrists. It features the iconic El Primero automatic movement, which drives the chronograph, triple calendar, and moon phase functions, making it a highly functional timepiece. This watch is a standout in the Zenith collection.

The new Tudor Black Bay 58 GMT is sure to be a crowd-pleaser. However, I do wish the dial and bezel didn’t include so much gilt elements.

Guests were also treated to an exclusive champagne and cognac tasting led by Moët Hennessy.

This concludes my event recap. A big thank you to Kennedy Chadstone for the lovely evening.
