The day I almost closed my account out of frustration, was the same day a woman messaged that my latest post wearing a Speedmaster inspired her to buy a similar watch, a piece she didn’t think she could wear due to the marketing geared towards men.

When you move to a new city in your 30s like I did, it can be hard to make new friends and it’s something I’ve really struggled with for a couple of years. But I can honestly say that – through watches – I found my people. People that I now consider my closest friends, I’ve met through this wonderful and crazy shared passion of ours.

Something moved my heart after this encounter, and I asked myself ‘‘When was the last time my eyes lit up like his? Where has my passion gone? I want it back!” I pulled out my pen and paper and began to sketch out what I was observing.

To this day, I still don’t know which watch he had, and if I had to give up all my watches to trade for his watch, I would do it in a heartbeat.

I didn’t need to explain why I had more than one handbag but would often be asked why I needed more than one watch.
